What to ExpectSomatic therapy is the practice of being in touch with the aliveness in your experience. The felt sense of what is happening within you, not just the story.
Hakomi journeys into the present. Discovering what is happening within you that you may have never explored. There is so much that happens beyond our minds that we miss, because we are so busy being ourselves.
The power of Hakomi informed somatic therapy is being in touch with what you do not yet know. For every new understanding we make of ourselves is a step closer to compassion.
It is also a beautiful practice of intimacy. Being in the moment without sense making or analysing. Being witnessed as you do.
❋ step one: chemistry callI offer a free online zoom call for us to meet prior to working together and see how our chemistry feels.
❋ step two: decide on session frequency and termsI like to be as flexible as possible to allow clients to find a way of working that suits them, but it helps for us to have an agreed cadence for a set period of time that can then continually be checked in on.
❋ step three: bookingOur first session will be booked by email, but after that we will book in at the end of each session.
❋step four: the session itself We work with what is alive in you, sometimes it will feel present and sometimes we will bring it in based on what you arrive wanting to explore. Mindfulness and somatic presence is essential, sometimes I will invite you to slow down or connect with your felt sense.
